Services include counseling and clinical supervision
I understand that searching for a counselor feels overwhelming, especially when you are already experiencing symptoms like depression or anxiety. Research tells us that the most important factor in good counseling is having a strong therapeutic relationship that includes trust, equality, respect, and communication. My focus in counseling is to help you find clarity and healing through connection.
I practice from a trauma-informed lens with a strong feminist-theory influence. Basically, I believe that we are constantly adapting to our environment in order to survive, and sometimes those adaptations we make stop working and start creating problems for us. Part of this healing journey is to explore those adaptations you've made to survive, honoring those adaptations, and then creating new changes. I also firmly believe that while I have studied psychology and trauma extensively, you are the expert of you. I can offer guidance and support informed by over a decade of experience, but you will always decide the direction of this process.
I also offer clinical supervision services for folks working towards their clinical license. I have supervised professionals with an LPC and an LMSW, and I am comfortable with the ethics of both fields of practice. Please email me or call my office to set up a free consultation to see if I might be a good fit for your supervision needs.
I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. I am trained in EMDR therapy and CBT therapy.
